About Us

Abbington’s mission is to enhance the independence and quality of life of each resident by providing care with respect and dignity in a safe, comfortable environment.

Abbington was founded in the mid 1990’s and is privately owned out of Columbus, Ohio area. Our Chairman, John Haemmerle, and our President, J. Michael Haemmerle were instrumental in the formation and development of Abbington and they are actively involved today.

Abbington has five assisted living communities in Ohio. Each location is an independent business entity sharing a common Board. The Abbington Assisted Living Communities are managed by Abbington Management Corp, located in Dublin, Ohio. We are proud to be a local, privately owned company, with a focus on providing personalized care to our residents.

Assisted Living Services

Abbington Assisted Living Communities offer personalized care based on each resident’s needs and preferences:

Social and recreational activities
Three meals per day, snacks
24 hour staffing
Housekeeping and laundry service
Assistance with activities of daily living (such as dressing, bathing, etc.)
Medication Administration Program with licensed nurses on staff
Local pharmacy service and delivery
Blood pressure and weight measures
On-site Health & Wellness Services

Health & Wellness Services

Medication Administration and Management – Each Abbington assisted living community has partnered with a local pharmacy provider to offer a comprehensive pharmacy service including free consultation, labeling, packaging, and delivery. Abbington’s Medication Administration Program combines the professional pharmacy service with on-site medication administration by our licensed nurses for our residents. You can relax and leave the hassle of managing medications behind.

Coordination of Services – Abbington Assisted Living Communities provide and coordinate wellness and health services to promote and maintain good health for our residents. Abbington works with a third-party Nurse Practitioner group that is available for on-site appointments, wellness visits, and management of chronic conditions, billable to Medicare and/or most insurance carriers. This is a beneficial service for residents – please ask for more details if you are interested.

The Wellness Services list is not all-inclusive and may vary by location. Abbington’s management team, nurses and resident care staff work closely with our Nurse Practitioner and home health partners to identify and coordinate health care services that each resident may need. We communicate with residents and families to decides what is best for each individual. The health care provider for specific services is ultimately the resident’s choice.

Abbington’s one-story design has your comfort and safety in mind with easy access to all common areas and no hassle with elevators or stairs.
